| LINSCOMB, CALEB L., (Buried in Linscomb Cemetery , in Confederate Uniform), wounded at Sabine Pass Battle. Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America, in May, 1861, and served “Honorably” as a “Private” in Company “F”, “Dailey’s Regiment” of “Cavalry”, C.S.A., “Ragsdale’s Command”. He was at his time of enlistment a resident of Orange County, Texas. He was “Honorably” discharged from said Confederate service on the 25th day of May, 1865, by Colonel Dailey at Hempstead, Texas. At which time he held the rank of “Private”. (Obtained from “Southern Cross of Honor” application…his writing). Received a Confederate pension from the State of Texas. Pension # 09964. |
