| James G. McKnight was a Medical Doctor. He was the first captain of Company L, 18th Texas Infantry. He left behind a wife, Lucy, and two small children when he went off to war. After his service, he returned to his family practicing medicine at Pollok, northwest of Lufkin, Texas. |
